What is the Granville K-6 PTO Auction?
The Granville K-6 auction is a biennial event that is not to be missed! This important event brings together our community for a night of celebration and revelry all while raising money to support our children and greater school community. The auction will be held on March 12, 2016 at the Apple Tree Auction Center in Newark, OH. This year our theme is “A Night at the Races, to Support the Blue Aces.” The auction is not only the single biggest fundraiser for our schools, it is also a fun and exciting night designed to bring together Granville parents, community members and school personnel.
How do I get a ticket to the auction?
Tickets to this fun event are $30 per person. An invitation will be sent home with students to all parents/guardians in January. Just fill out the necessary information, send in a check and your ticket will be sent to you. Tickets can also be purchased online at (www.putthelinkhere.com). Please keep in mind that there is a 3.88% processing fee for credit card payments made online to cover the bank processing fee. Get your tickets early as this event typically sells out!
Who benefits from the proceeds raised by the auction?
The proceeds from the auction benefit all students in grades K-6 at Granville Elementary and Intermediate Schools. The money raised by the auction is used for MANY purposes, including the purchase of smart boards, computers, books, additional literature materials, cultural arts programs, outdoor educational space, playground equipment, PE equipment and much more!
What happens during the auction?
The auction consists of many fun events all rolled into one evening. Upon entering the auction, you will have the opportunity to enjoy food from many local restaurants. There will be a cash bar featuring beer, wine and spirits and also the signature drink of the evening. The main event of the evening is the live auction and silent auction, featuring many items from local sponsors. Beautiful class projects, exciting get-away vacations and special events with local “celebrities” will be auctioned off during our live auction. There will also be numerous items such as spa packages, golf packages, memorabilia, date nights, fun events with teachers, special school experiences and much more available during our silent auction. At the same time, there will be raffles to win gift certificates to local restaurants and an exciting opportunity to win a beautiful Blue Ace sapphire stone. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy!
What form of payment do you take at the auction?
Checks are the preferred method of payment at the auction. We will also accept cash. Visa or MasterCard payments will be accepted at an additional 3.88% convenience charge due to the bank processing fee.
How do donors benefit?
Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Donors receive many benefits depending on the level of giving. Examples of the benefits include prominent sponsorship signage at the event, business ads in the auction catalog, recognition on the PTO social media page and website, VIP seating at the event, free tickets to the auction and more. What type of items are you looking for?
There are many different ways to support the auction. We welcome monetary donations, item donations and in-kind donations. Some examples of popular items we are seeking are:
· Gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses
· Vacation opportunities and tickets to big events
· Services such as cooking, painting, fitness training, home design, photography, financial and more…
· Items such as jewelry, home goods, memorabilia and more….

What is the dress for the evening?
There is no dress code for the evening. Since this a fun, adult-only evening, guests typically get dressed up for this event in semi-formal or dressy casual attire. If you choose to dress for the theme, derby hats or other derby attire are welcome but not required.
